Birriah Native Title Claim Group

The Birriah Native Title Claim Group is currently described as the biological and adopted descendants of

Jinnie Tiers
Kuburu, the father of Billy Lightning Banbari
John Smallwood
Rosie Schilling
Peggy Barker
Sambo Callaghan
Tommy Dodd or Tommy Morgan
the mother of Lizzie Limburner

It is proposed that the Birriah Native Title Claim Group be re-formulate TO ADD the biological and adopted descendants of Nellie Skeen or William (Billy) Skeen Snr in order to ensure that the description of the Birriah Native Title Claim Group is consistent with the best available supporting evidence.

If that were done, the Birriah Native Title Claim Group would become the following (reformulated Birriah Native Title Claim Group): The biological or adopted descendants of:

Jinnie Tiers
Kuburu, the father of Billy Lightning Banbari
John Smallwood
Rosie Schilling
Peggy Barker
Sambo Callaghan
Tommy Dodd or Tommy Morgan
the mother of Lizzie Limburner
Nellie Skeen or William (Billy) Skeen Snr.

The advertisement covers further matters but this post is purely the apical ancestors.

Appeared in the Koori Mail of September 9, 2015.
